CMHA-ER is offering a Family Support Program, for parents, siblings, other relatives and friends of individuals who are living with a mental illness.
The Family Support Program delivers:
1) The Drop in Family Peer Support Group is a facilitated support group for parents, siblings, other relatives and friends of individuals who are living with a mental illness.
The Drop in Family Peer Support Group meets every Wednesday 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
8th Floor, 10045 – 111 St. (Harley Court Building)
2) An education Group that meets for 2 hours once a week for 8 consecutive weeks. This group is for individuals who are supporting someone with a mental illness who want to learn more about mental illness, how to support someone with a mental illness, how to take care of themselves and learn coping and problem – solving techniques. Individuals who complete this program will leave with skills and tools to help them in their daily lives. It will also present an opportunity for individuals to participate in the Drop in Family Peer Support Group as peer volunteers.(Wednesday 6:30-8:30pm 8th Floor 10045 111 Street Harley Court Building)
This program will run throughout the year. Dates TBA.
This program will require a registration and a $20.00 fee for the manual.
